A MESSAGE FROM CCA'S CHAIR

Dear Friends,

From March 16-22, 2010 and for the very first time in its history, the Canadian Construction Association will host its annual conference at sea aboard the stunning Regent Seven Seas Mariner. Themed Work Hard, Play Hard: Cruising Uncharted Waters, the 2010 conference will be like no other before; I sincerely hope you will be able to join us for this historic event!

Known around the world as one the best cruise ship in the industry, the Regent Seven Seas Mariner’s amenities can compete with many of the upscale hotels that have hosted previous CCA conference. In short, the Mariner features four restaurants, including a Famed Le Cordon Bleu of Paris Signature restaurant, a spa and fitness centre, a casino, a grand theatre, a pool with two whirlpools, golf practice ranges, and much, much more.

The ship will depart March 16th from Fort Lauderdale and the conference experience will include three stops: 1) George Town, Cayman Islands, 2) Ocho Rios, Jamaica and 3) Bahamas.  For more information on the stops and the program, I invite you to read through the different sections of this conference website.

Although the conference cruise is a first, the quality of educational business sessions and seminars that are offered during CCA’s flagship event will be prominent once again. Look forward to a solid program that will include sessions and seminars on topics such as:

Construction Law Succession Planning Public-Private Partnerships
Building Information Modeling Industry Practices Gold Seal
Economic Forecast Labour Force Challenges

I also invite you to participate and share your ideas with your peers at the CCA Committee and Council meetings such the Human Resources, e-Construction, Membership & Promotion, and Finance committees and the General, Trades, RoadBuilders, and Manufacturers, Suppliers and Services councils.

Since CCA has the exclusive use of the ship throughout the conference, the planning committee has had the flexibility to tailor the conference program and organize social and networking events that promise to be memorable as always. One of the highlights of the conference will undoubtedly be incoming CCA chair Wayne Morsky’s party on a white sand beach in Blackbeard's Cay.

I invite you to browse through the different sections of the conference website for more information of the program and registration.  I encourage you to take some well deserved time off from your busy schedule and I sincerely hope you will be able to join us aboard CCA’s first cruise conference!

2009 Chair of the Board
