Aloha! Are you ready to Ride the Wave…whether on the beach or in your own industry?
To help better equip you to deal with the dynamic times we find ourselves in, join us for the Canadian Construction Association’s 88th Annual Conference from March 12 to 16, 2006 on the Big Island of Hawaii at the magnificent Hilton Waikoloa Village® Resort. As for the beach, we’ll let you decide how you want to tackle the ocean’s waves!
To be able to operate effectively in today’s complex work environment it’s critical that you stay aware of the latest developments in such key areas as industry practices, surety, insurance, industry technology, the environment, human resources and education. It’s also important that you play a role in helping to influence policy and the decision-making process so that your national association can address your issues and concerns.
The conference program is designed to do all this and more. It will provide you with an opportunity to learn, share experiences and ideas, network, make new friends and live a unique experience on an island paradise. And you will have an opportunity to hear two fabulous keynote speakers that are sure to challenge you in a thought-provoking process that will stay with you for a lifetime. A key value-added feature of the conference program is the LEED for Contractors Course (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) that you can use as credits toward LEED certification.
The business and general sessions have been carefully selected and will cover such topics as:
- Best Practices for Minimizing the Impact of Changes & Delays on Construction Projects;
- Family Business Succession, it’s all about planning;
- Leadership & Management in a Changing World;
- Ten Hot Legal Issues: Concepts and Misconceptions;
- Capital Projects Technology Roadmap;
- The New Insurance Market Environment;
- Construction’s Labour Deficit - Can It Be Resolved?
- Procuring Construction: Owners’ Expectations of the Industry;
- Gold Seal in the Tendering Process -- The Pros and Cons; and
- The Ins & Outs of Surety Bonding.
Please take a moment to explore this conference website to reveal all that the 2006 CCA Annual Conference has to offer along with its conference and hotel registration information. The program and the magnificent conference location have so much to offer that I know you will want to register as soon as possible.
I look forward to welcoming you to the Big Island of Hawaii in March 2006. There we will come together in the Aloha Spirit as we renew friendships, form new relationships and share our enthusiasm for and commitment to this great industry.
 Murray Farmer, 2005 Chair of the Board
