Westin Rio Mar's Ocean Course designed by Tom and George Fazio
Atlantic panoramas, ocean breezes and iguanas play along the entire 6,782 yards of the Ocean Course. George Fazio designed this classic ocean-side course in the mid 1970's. His nephew, Tom, updated the design in the late 1990's to rave reviews. One of Puerto Rico's most popular courses, its classic layout features four sets of tees, numerous bunkers and elevated greens. The signature 16th hole, an ocean-side par 3,238 yards, always rates among the Caribbean's best.

The first and 10th tees here are excruciatingly close to the 35,000-square-foot clubhouse and the al fresco bar ("Home of the World's Coldest Beer"), with the result that - even though you can't hear them - there are snickering remarks being made about anything less than a stellar tee shot!

Fees: $150 US per person
Rentals: Clubs (Adams) are $35 US, Shoes are $15 US

Includes:
Green fees, shared power cart, tournament prizes, bag transfers, continental boxed breakfast in your cart, buffet lunch, bottled water, gifts, towel service, Rio Mar metal bag tag and scorecard, yardage book and unlimited driving range use prior to play.

2007 companion activity participant list (As of Jan. 31, 2007)

Tuesday, March 6th - 11:00 - 16:00

Deluxe motor coaches will be provided to take the participants to Old San Juan where they will have a fabulous lunch in a picturesque facility called El Convento. El Convento is an architectural landmark in the heart of historic Old San Juan. A former Carmelite convent built three and a half centuries ago, El Convento is a member of Historic Hotels of America and Small Luxurious Hotels of the World. Upon arrival and during lunch, participants will be entertained by local musicians.

Following lunch, participants will then have three options to choose from: a guided tour of the San Juan Museum of Art and History; a guided tour of La Fortaleza which is the current official residence of the Governor of Puerto Rico (It was built between 1533 and 1540 to defend the harbor of San Juan. It is the oldest executive mansion in the New World); or free time to discover the Old City's charming plazas, parks and shops by strolling its narrow streets.

While this activity is included in the spousal/companion's registration package, you must still register and confirm your participation in this organized activity (see registration form).

Subject to availability, additional delegates may participate in this activity at a cost of $100 US (+ taxes) per person. Please contact Lynn Perrault (lynnp@cca-acc.com) at CCA to register.

Thursday, March 8th - 12:00 - 17:00

There are 2 CCA organized tours available. The price for either of the tours is $60 US per person which includes lunch.

Historic Guided Tour of Old San Juan:
Wear comfortable shoes and light clothing, grab your camera and get ready to marvel at one of the most pleasing experiences anyone could get in Puerto Rico: a walking tour of Old San Juan along the colourful cobble stone streets, patios, hanging balconies, Spanish ironwork and chapels that present a marriage of the past and the present of this historic city. You will also visit El Morro, a six-level fortress which stood strong amidst countless attacks including the 1898 Spanish-American War. Old San Juan is also known for its great shopping and is a popular filming location for big budget movies.

Half Day Trip to El Yunque Rainforest:
The Caribbean National Forest has the highest visitation of any natural site in Puerto Rico. When you see it, you'll easily understand why. You've never been anywhere like the El Yunque Rain Forest - a cool, mountainous, semi tropical rain forest just ten minutes from the Westin Rio Mar Hotel. El Yunque is managed by the US Forest Service, who maintains natural hiking and paved trails, picnic facilities and even an exhibit hall. The forest hosts giant hardwoods, tropical ferns over 40 feet tall, bamboo groves, and animal species such as the endangered Puerto Rican Parrot. The abundant rainfall is shed down the mountain through rocky rivers creating many cascades of waterfalls and pools. At the higher elevations the waters are clean enough to drink and delightful to swim in.

The Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort is the perfect playground for kids. Its private beachfront setting offers dozens of ways to delight and entertain them - all in a secure surrounding. Each day is different, depending on the size of the group, the children's ages, and what the kids feel like doing. Best of all, children can run, jump and play to their heart's content. Supervised programs keep them from being interrupted by adult activities. All enjoyed under the watchful eyes of caring professionals.

During the Conference's Welcoming Night of March 5th, the CCA is hosting A Night at the Beach Cinema featuring a children's movie, a bonfire, and all you can eat marshmallows!
