This survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. In return for your valuable input, all survey respondents will receive a chance to win a complimentary registration to CCA's 88th Annual Conference, March 12-18, 2006 in Hawaii (valued at $1,200US). CCA will select one respondent at random from all those received up to November 30, 2005.

In June of 2003, the CCA Board of Directors established a Research and Innovation (R&I) Task Force, with a mandate to help collaborate and communicate R&I initiatives at a national level for the ICI (Industrial-Commercial-Institutional), roadbuilding and heavy construction sectors of the Canadian construction industry.

A key element of the Task Force's work will be to provide industry-led input into the newly established Canadian Construction Innovation Council (CCIC). The vision of the CCIC is, through increased innovation, to offer clients of the construction sector higher value for their construction investments, while at the same time generating a more profitable supply chain that provides the best socio-economic value for Canada. Its mission is to be the recognized leader in promoting sector-wide collaboration to advance innovation, value, quality, safety and productivity in and for the construction industry, resulting in a Canadian industry that provides world-class products and services to drive Canadian competitiveness.

In collaboration with a wide cross-section of industry stakeholders including CCA, the CCIC has set as its mandate, to: identify needs and opportunities for sector-related research and innovation; develop national innovation priorities; set targets for assessing industry performance; promote technology transfer, and; champion innovation issues affecting the construction sector. For purposes of this survey, the CCIC defines the construction industry to include: contractors; designers; equipment and product suppliers; researchers; regulators; technology transfer providers; and owners.

With these goals, CCA's new R&I Task Force will be the primary conduit between CCA and its members and the Council, helping to establish priorities and influence the innovation agenda on behalf of the industry. In addition, the Task Force will set its own goals and objectives to suit the internal R&I priorities established by CCA.

You can help set CCA's R&I priorities!

The CCA R&I Task Force invites you to help set the research goals and innovation objectives of the Canadian construction industry. Simply complete the following short survey that allows you to tell us what you think CCA's priorities should be in trying to help make your construction business more competitive, more profitable and of better value to your customers.
