Notice: We are currently revising the Gold Seal accreditation program to create a smoother, more efficient process while ensuring high standards and industry relevance. During this transition, we are not accepting new or renewable course applications. However, construction-related courses can still be included in applicants’ Gold Seal Certification applications, subject to credit approval upon review.
Course providers may use the following statement for course listings on websites, outlines and/or communication to students:
Course hours can be used towards the Gold Seal Certification application for credits, subject to credit approval upon review. Note: every 6 hours of learning equals 1 Gold Seal credit.
We will notify all course providers of the new guidelines and program changes by email, once the revisions have been completed (anticipated completion: end of 2023).
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we move towards a more efficient and standardized accreditation program.
Meet the Gold Seal curriculum standard
The primary objective of accreditation is to help prospective candidates, employers and the interested public to identify any academic material which meet the Gold Seal curriculum standard.
The curriculum standard serves as a guide for those responsible for construction management education. It provides information on each of the eleven subject matter areas that are recommended in support of the Gold Seal Certification (GSC) Program.
Accreditation is based on content and duration, the formula to calculate credit allocation is 6 hours = 1 credit.

*The Gold Seal Certification Program is a construction management program and therefore accredits construction management education. An exception is made for some technical courses/seminars/workshops and conferences related to topics such as BIM, LEED, AutoCAD, etc.
*There is a cap of 10 credits/course regardless of duration.

Guidelines when designing courses, seminars, workshops and conferences
- The evaluation of a course or program is undertaken only upon application.

- Accreditation will apply only to an individual course or series of qualifying courses/seminars/workshops/conferences related to construction management. Only the courses are accredited and not the educational institutions or agencies.
- Any change in an accredited course must be reported to Gold Seal. Any change that alters the circumstances under which the course was accredited may result in an immediate reassessment. Submission of documents may be sufficient for reassessment.
- The evaluation of a course is based on the information provided by the course provider and is solely for the confidential use of Gold Seal.
- Accreditation is valid for five years.
- The published course outline must include the course title, duration, entrance requirements, and curriculum profile.
- Course objectives should state the outcome a graduate would be expected to understand and perform.
- These objectives and standards should be an integral part of any promotional course literature, calendars, manuals, etc. issued by the course provider.
Please note that the courses/seminars/workshops/conferences cannot be exam preparatory, product, or promotional endorsement. Homework and assignment durations are not included when considering accreditation credits.
