Strengthening our future: September Board highlights
The Canadian Construction Association’s (CCA) Board of Directors met in Halifax, Nova Scotia, from September 8-9, 2025, for a productive session focused on advancing the association’s strategic priorities and future plans. The meeting featured formal approvals, strategic discussions, and updates on major initiatives shaping the future of Canada’s construction industry.
Strategic planning for 2026-2029 nearing completion
The Board reviewed the draft of CCA’s 2026-2029 strategic plan, which sets the course for the association’s next phase of impact. While the plan received strong support, some minor revisions will be made before final approval is sought at the November meeting. This roadmap will guide CCA in strengthening its voice and delivering greater value to members across the country.
Independent consultant to review membership model
To ensure long-term sustainability and continued relevance, the Board approved the engagement of a third-party consultant to review CCA’s current membership model. The review will benchmark against other associations, identify potential risks, and explore new revenue opportunities to support future growth.
Board endorses key CCDC documents
The Board of Directors endorsed CCDC 23 and Division 00, foundational documents that enhance clarity and consistency in construction procurement. CCDC 23 covers all aspects of the bid calling and contract award process, while Division 00 standardizes procurement and contracting templates. The Board’s endorsement reflects a commitment to best practices and risk mitigation in the industry.
SignaSur™ advancing towards launch
In line with CCA’s commitment to providing innovative, value-driven tools, SignaSur™ is being rolled out as the platform to purchase, execute, and manage CCDC and CCA standard contract documents. Starting in October, members will have the opportunity to beta test the platform. The Board has approved the pricing strategy for traditional document sales, with the full transition to SignaSur™ on track for January 1, 2027.
2026 CCA plan and budget approved
Looking ahead, the Board approved CCA’s 2026 operating plan and budget, which includes a modest two per cent membership fee increase.
Partner Association reports
The Board expressed appreciation for the detailed Partner Association reports, which continue to inform national strategy and support alignment across the country.
