In 1991, the Canadian Construction Association launched the Gold Seal Certification Program with a vision: to recognize and elevate excellence in Canada’s construction industry.
Thirty-five years later, that vision is stronger than ever.
As we celebrate this milestone in 2026, CCA is proud to celebrate the extraordinary community that has helped shape the Gold Seal legacy across Canada:
- 13,341 Gold Seal Certified professionals
- 274 active P.GSCs
- 70 Gold Seal Employers
But this anniversary is about more than numbers.
It’s about the professionals who invested their time, expertise, and commitment to earn a designation that represents the highest standards of leadership and professionalism in construction.
It’s about the employers who recognize the value of developing their people and building a culture of excellence.
And it’s about the volunteers, partner associations, and industry champions who have supported the program and helped it grow over the past three and a half decades.
Gold Seal Certification formally recognizes the experience, education, and competence of construction professionals in key roles across the industry. For those who pursue it, certification is more than a credential; it’s a commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and excellence in their careers.
That commitment has never been more important.
Canada’s construction industry is changing rapidly. Projects are growing in scale and complexity, expectations are rising, and the need for skilled, knowledgeable and trusted construction leaders continues to grow. In this environment, Gold Seal Certified professionals and Gold Seal Employers are helping set the standard.

While the program has evolved significantly over 35 years, its purpose has remained the same: recognizing construction professionals who lead by example and strive for excellence.
