Introduction:

The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) is the national voice for Canada’s construction industry, representing an industry that employs close to 1.6 million Canadians and contributes approximately 7.4% of Canada’s GDP.

Reporting to the Vice President, Communications, Marketing and Member Services, the Marketing Manager leads the planning and execution of marketing initiatives that increase awareness, engagement and participation across CCA’s events, education, certification, programs, products, sponsorship and membership offerings.

The Marketing Manager develops integrated, audience-focused campaigns that drive registrations, applications, leads and other measurable actions. Working collaboratively with teams across CCA, the position translates organizational priorities and industry information into compelling content, campaigns, and digital experiences.

The successful candidate is a creative and results-oriented marketer who combines strong storytelling and content-development skills with audience insight, digital expertise, and disciplined campaign measurement.

Responsibilities:

Marketing strategy and planning

  • Develop and execute successful, integrated marketing strategies supporting CCA’s events, education, certification, programs, products, membership and strategic initiatives.
  • Managing all aspects of marketing campaigns from conception to performance assessment, including the establishment of campaign objectives, target audiences, value propositions, channel optimization strategies, and performance metrics. Develop an annual marketing plan aligned with CCA’s organizational and portfolio priorities, along with an associated organization-wide promotional calendar.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-promote CCA offerings and deepen audience participation.
  • Recommend the appropriate mix of owned, earned and paid marketing channels for each campaign.
  • Manage competing requests and campaign timelines in collaboration with the Vice President and internal portfolio leads.

Digital marketing

  • Manage CCA’s day-to-day digital marketing activities across email, website, social media and paid digital channels.
  • Develop and manage CCA’s social media content calendar and manage the publication of engaging content on those channels.
  • Manage email campaigns, audience lists, segmentation, testing and performance reporting.
  • Develop and maintain campaign landing pages and routine marketing content on CCA websites.
  • Work with Digital Solutions on website improvements, integrations and more complex technical requirements.
  • Plan and manage digital advertising campaigns within approved budgets.
  • Apply relevant search, accessibility and digital marketing best practices.
  • Monitor channel performance and recommend changes based on audience behaviour and results.

Content development

    • Create clear, compelling and audience-focused marketing content, including:

o Social media content and campaigns
o Email campaigns and audience journeys
o Website and landing-page copy
o Event and program promotions
o Video concepts, scripts and short-form content
o Digital advertisements
o Marketing collateral
o Partner and stakeholder toolkits

  • Translate technical industry information into accessible and engaging content for different audiences.
  • Repurpose content effectively across platforms and campaign stages.
  • Develop creative briefs and coordinate with internal or external designers, photographers, videographers and other suppliers.
  • Ensure content is accurate, audience-appropriate and aligned with campaign objectives.

Event, education and program marketing

  • Lead marketing campaigns for CCA conferences, symposiums, webinars, professional development, Gold Seal Certification and member programs.
  • Develop audience-specific strategies to increase registrations, applications and participation.
  • Work with program and event leads to identify audience needs, differentiators, promotional milestones and conversion opportunities.
  • Develop launch, early-bird, deadline and last-chance campaigns.
  • Monitor registration and application performance and adjust campaigns as required.
  • Support the development and market introduction of new programs, services and educational offerings.
  • Conduct post-campaign analysis and document recommendations for future delivery.

Membership marketing

  • Work with the appropriate teams to promote corporate membership and demonstrate member value.
  • Develop campaigns and content supporting member acquisition, onboarding, engagement and renewal.
  • Create resources that help partner associations and corporate members understand and access CCA offerings.
  • Use audience and engagement data to identify opportunities for targeted outreach.
  • Support member surveys and audience research where marketing insight is required.

Brand management

  • Support the consistent application of CCA’s brand, visual identity, voice and messaging.
  • Ensure marketing materials align with organizational positioning and strategic priorities.
  • Maintain appropriate marketing templates, campaign standards and channel guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen CCA’s brand awareness and audience reach.
  • Work with Communications to ensure alignment between promotional, corporate and reputational messaging.
  • Flag potential brand, reputational or audience concerns to the Vice President.

Analytics and performance

  • Develop campaign dashboards and reports that connect marketing activity with organizational outcomes.
  • Track performance including reach, engagement, website traffic, email results, leads, registrations, applications and conversions.
  • Establish benchmarks and campaign targets.
  • Evaluate return on advertising and marketing investment.
  • Use data, testing and audience insight to optimize active campaigns.
  • Prepare post-campaign reports identifying results, lessons and recommendations.
  • Maintain an integrated view of audience and campaign performance across CCA’s marketing channels.
  • Work with internal teams to improve the quality and use of marketing and audience data.

Budget and vendor coordination

  • Develop and manage assigned marketing and advertising budgets.
  • Monitor campaign expenditures and ensure activities remain within approved budgets.
  • Coordinate external agencies, freelancers, media partners and creative vendors as required.
  • Develop scopes of work, obtain estimates and monitor vendor deliverables.
  • Evaluate external marketing services and recommend investments based on organizational needs and expected results.

Collaboration

  • Act as an internal marketing partner to teams across CCA.
  • Work with internal leads to understand business objectives and translate them into effective marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with Communications to align promotional activity with CCA’s broader editorial, brand and reputational priorities.
  • Collaborate with Events on audience development, registration campaigns and sponsor activation.
  • Collaborate with Member Services, Gold Seal and Education on program promotion and participant journeys.
  • Collaborate with Digital Solutions on platforms, integrations, analytics and digital experience improvements.
  • Participate in organization-wide initiatives and special projects as required.

Qualifications
Experience

  • Degree or diploma in marketing, digital marketing, communications, business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four to seven years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, integrated campaigns, digital marketing or brand management.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing campaigns that generate measurable audience action.
  • Experience managing social media, email marketing, websites and paid digital advertising.
  • Experience developing content for multiple platforms and audiences.
  • Experience working with campaign analytics and using results to improve performance.
  • Experience managing concurrent campaigns, deadlines and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in an association, not-for-profit, professional education or events environment is an asset.

Skills and competencies

  • Strong marketing judgment and understanding of audience segmentation, customer journeys and conversion.
  • Excellent copywriting, editing and storytelling skills.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media and email marketing practices.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms, content-management systems, social media tools and marketing analytics.
  • Ability to interpret data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Strong project-management and organizational skills.
  • Creative, resourceful and results-oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across different functional areas.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Canada’s construction industry is considered an asset.

Salary range
